Hunting gear and fishing gear has come a long way in recent years to make way for girls and women. Even still we had a hard time finding quality camo that fit well for our petite daughter. We realized that while there is more and more out there for women, there's not for girls. So we set out to make our own and Lea Avery Gear was born! If you are in the same boat, check us out. Our sizes extend to XXL, which is perfect for petite women's hunting clothes. This size fits about a women's medium.
The first piece we designed was a hunting shirt. We have a long sleeve camo shirt for mid and late season that is a part of our Sapelo line. Our Darien line has a short sleeve camo shirt for turkey hunting as well as those early deer seasons. Both make an excellent base layer for late season as well.
Our Sapelo and Darien shirts are made of a spandex blend which gives is a very stretchy and comfortable fit. These also have a superior moisture management finish, this means it will dry fast if you get wet and will wick moisture and sweat away from your body. The long-sleeve shirt has thumb holes for extra coverage, keeping sleeves in place.
Next we set out to create camo pants for girls. Starting at an XS we've got even the youngest huntress covered.
Our Sapelo pants are a little thicker and is geared for those late seasons hunts. The Darien pants are made for turkey season and early large game hunting. Although, they are so super stretchy, you can definitely layer underneath and use them all season long.
Both offer elastic waistbands for a better fit. But what we love the most is that they are a slim leg fit. This means they slide right into boots, keeping the hem clean and dry.
Our newest addition to our hunting apparel is our jacket. The Cumberland jacket is so soft and warm she will be cozy all day.
With a water resistant shell she will stay dry tromping through the morning dew or a light rain as well. It also has huge pockets for storing ammo, supplies and of course snacks. Behind the pockets are hand warming pockets lined with fleece.
Another design we were very intentional about is that the pockets sit higher than usual. This is so while she is sitting in the blind or stand, her hands can be tucked inside those warmers and resting comfortably in her lap.
If she will be hunting from a tree stand this camo jacket is a must have. Designed with a harness pass through loop she will be able to be tied off the whole time with the harness on her core.
Our family is so excited to be a part of getting kids outdoors, specifically girls. No more big brother's boxy, baggy hand-me-downs, she can now have gear designed just for her. We haven't mentioned that if you look closely at the camo pattern, you will notice flowers. Girly and tough!
We know that spending on kids hunting clothes is a difficult call because some seasons are short and they grow fast. That is why we have an awesome trade in program so you can get a bigger size the next season!
We aren't stopping at hunting clothes. We are all about everything outdoors. We just launched a fishing shirt and hope to keep adding!
